Vinted Members Express Displeasure Regarding Sizing Changes

Shoppers are voicing their frustration after an update resulted in items being listed as the wrong size.

This online marketplace has updated its measurement guidelines for women's and children's clothes without notifying all users about the change.

Social Media Backlash

Many shoppers and sellers have taken to social media claiming that product pages now present a modified sizing category versus the original listing because of the remapping.

The platform stated the new system was more in line with other platforms.

It has advised users to review their products and update the measurements by hand where appropriate, resulting in member annoyance.

Measurement Approach Updates

Earlier, the sizes had both one number and one letter, such as S/8 or M/10.

The revised method features a letter with a size spectrum for example S/UK 8-10.

For certain items, the measurements have been reclassified - like an L measurement was previously a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18.

Shopper Accounts

Frankie Bridger, who creates plus-size fashion videos, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult".

"Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," which is what Vinted now does.

Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, explained products she uploaded on Vinted with size 14 labels were appearing on the platform as size 20–22.

"Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they will likely be quite upset," she explained.

Required Changes

Charlotte Lunn, located in England, explained she became annoyed because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizes on "every single listing".

"Personally, this is quite irritating, since I have chronic health issues and Vinted sales have been crucial after experiencing income reduction," she said.

Marketplace Information

The platform boasts over 100 million members, including 18 million in the UK.

It has proved a popular alternative versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop.

This isn't the first time where an unanticipated change on the platform has faced criticism: last year, Vinted reversed a change concerning shipment methods after backlash from users.
