A group of ten convicted of cyber-bullying targeting Brigitte Macron

A court in Paris has found guilty ten people for perpetrating the online harassment of Brigitte Macron, the wife of French President, Emmanuel Macron.
The defendants faced accusations of disseminating fabrications regarding her gender identity and sexual orientation, in addition to publishing malicious remarks about the husband and wife's significant age difference.
The court issued suspended jail terms of a maximum of eight months to the convicted individuals. The detailed judgment has still to be made public.
A circulating false narrative suggesting that Brigitte Macron is a trans woman has existed since her husband's initial election in 2017.
This Monday's court decision in France comes as the Macrons pursuing a libel case in the United States of America against right-wing influencer Candace Owens, who has likewise promoted analogous false narratives about the Brigitte Macron's identity.
Their legal filing contends that Owens brushed aside any factual proof contradicting her allegations opting to amplify the voices of notorious conspiracy peddlers.
Owens has frequently reiterated these allegations on her show and social media channels, and in March 2024 stated that she would risk all her credibility on her conviction that Mrs. Macron was born a man.
Brigitte Macron originally became acquainted with her current spouse when she was a teacher at his lycée.
The couple married in 2007, when the man who would become president was 29 and she was in her mid-50s.
